Lifestyle

Many aspects of our modern lifestyle now involve travel, tourism and close proximity to other people.

In the so-called developed world we also love our creature comforts - heated homes, cars, shopping centres etc.

We also seem to love our toys - big vehicles, 4WDs, caravans, holiday homes and the ability to do what we like.

We like to be able to go anywhere - locally by jumping in a car and globally by plane.

Particularly in the developed world we also like to reward ourselves with travel to exotic places, to take a cruise, go an buy stuff we don't really need and so on.

Of course we deserve these things we have worked hard for them.

With the lockdowns and restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 wake-up event many people have had the time to reflect on the adverse effects of these lifestyle choices.

I have used the word "we" above - it is not everyone and it is the young people who have been questioning the long term consequences to the planet of our lifestyles.
