Natural Environment
We are destroying our natural environment at an alarming rate. With increased population and urbanization and the required infrastructure to support our needs, the natural environment in and around our cities is being pushed back.
More alarming however is the destruction of vast areas of rain forests and other areas that is going on well away from immediate view. Removal of rain forests in the Amazon has changed microclimate, rainfall and the ability to replenish oxygen. The increasing population has also meant that new areas of land have been cleared all around the world for the purpose of food production can lead to significant use of other resources such as water.
Melting ice has impacted on the life in the artic regions.
The 2019-20 bushfires in Australia burnt vast areas but also destroyed perhaps a billion creatures.
